by Josh Kirby

This is because if an eighth son’s eighth son has an eighth son, he will be a sourcerer, a source of magic, capable of great and terrible feats. This sourcerer has his father possessing his staff, whispering in his ear to do exactly that. It’s up to Rincewind, a wizard with all the magical potential of a paper bag, to stop him, with the help of a barbarian hero-in-training, the daughter of the Disc’s most famous barbarian hero, who just wants to be a hairdresser, and his Luggage, a magical suitcase with hundreds of little legs and serious anger management issues.

by Josh Kirby
As everyone knows, the eighth son of an eighth son is destined to be a powerful wizard, and a dying wizard will often seek out such a child to become his successor. It’s due to a simple mistake that the eighth son’s eighth child is not an eighth son at all, but a first daughter, Eskarina Smith. It’s too late to take away the wizard staff now, but perhaps Granny Weatherwax, possibly the greatest witch in the world, can raise her to be a witch and get away from all that nonsense with the wands and chantings. As she grows up, Esk feels drawn to wizardry whenever Granny tries to teach her witchcraft, and when she eventually makes her way to Unseen University, the premier institute of magic anywhere on the Disc, she feels compelled to become a witch after listening to the wizards there.

Good Omens is a non-Discworld book, co-authored by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.

The Apocalypse is coming, with Heaven and Hell both charging headlong towards it. This doesn’t sit well with Aziraphale and Crowley, an angel and a demon who have been on Earth since the beginning and have gotten to quite like it here, and they plan to stop the End from happening. The only problem for everyone’s plans is that nobody knows where the Antichrist is.

The same tidal wave brings Ermintrude, a young lady from England who prefers the name Daphne, the sole survivor on the ship taking her to meet her father in the Americas. Together they help each other survive the aftermath, and, with other survivors from smaller islands, rebuild Mau’s home. In the process, they discover an ancient secret about the island and about how the world was before.
